We have been gone from the Desert Southwest and the Navajo people we love for 6 months. No matter where we serve it will be another Year and 6 months before we return, with all the fundraising, partner building, and ministry prep we need to do. Yet my heart is breaking. You see, when we left Dine Bikeyah, I was in shock, heart broken, and so disappointed. We had thought we would be at that location for life, then things we couldn't control made it not so.
When you live and minister in a place for nearly 10 years, even if you were not born there, it leaves footprints on one's heart. I do not think there has not been a week since we came back where I have not dreamed of my friends and "family" back out in Dine Bikeyah at least 2 twice a week, if not every night. I was called to missions at age 7, to the Navajo and their Dine Bikeyah, when I was 16. I have spent most of my married life among the Navajo. I am not sure when we will go back at this point, but my heart is breaking to see my friends and "family" back home in Dine Bikeyah... Lord Jesus, make it quickly!
